Located 60 miles south of Denver and nestled in the mountains just west of Colorado Springs. Teller County is home to the historic mountain town, Cripple Creek. Teller County was carved from the western slope of Pikes Peak, which had been entirely within El Paso County, in 1899. Teller County was named after United States Senator Henry M. Teller.
