Purchasing a home is often the biggest purchase any person or couple will ever make, and because of that there is much to consider before a decision is made. Everything from the location, the school district, the amenities, along with many other factors, have to be considered and weighed in when the final choice is made. Depending on where you’re looking, there are always parts of a town that are older, and others that are new and “up and coming,” and more often than not these newer residential areas of the town are referred to as Master Planned Communities.

If you’ve been living in a location that has been around for a while, chances are you don’t live in a master-planned community, but you are probably seeing them being built in the new areas. If you’re unfamiliar with the term, they usually refer to the housing developments that have similar housing styles within them, a community pool, and many other amenities that a normal, traditional development wouldn’t have.

While these communities can run a bit higher in price thanks to the features and the homeowner association fees that come along with the development, owning one of the homes can be extremely beneficial for you, especially if you have a family.

Sense of community

When you live in such a community where it’s designed not only to have beautiful Colorado Springs homes, but also to create a place for people to socialize and kids to play, there is always a sense of togetherness. Usually you know most of the people in your neighborhood, and while you might not want everyone to know everything about you, these neighbors will most likely become your close friends for years to come.

The communities often come with a pool, club house, and a children’s play area, all of which are maintained by the HOA. You’re able to rent out the club house for parties and such, as well as have a pool party by reserving it ahead of time.

Working together to keep it beautiful

Some people have a notion that living in any of the Colorado Springs master planned communities is annoying or unnecessary, but the rules they have will definitely benefit you in the long run. For example, these communities prevent the surrounding areas of your home from affecting the value of yours, so your neighbor cannot have junk in their yard or not cut the grass because that would create an eyesore for yours and in turn lower your value. To prevent this, the HOA will go around the community every once in a while to check up on the exterior of the homes and if they feel as though anyone is in violation, they’ll most likely receive a notice in the mail.

Beautiful landscaping and scenery

This is one of the best perks about Colorado Springs master planned communities; the picturesque landscaping. Usually at the entrance, they’ll place the name of the development with a nice design on a gorgeous brick wall or some kind of display, some will be gated, others will not. They’ll have flowers greeting you as you pull in and sidewalks throughout the neighborhood. Also, they’ll even repaint your mailboxes and clean streets, sidewalks, and trim the hedges that are owned by the development.

These features among many others makes buying a home much easier. Colorado Springs master planned communities give you everything that you need and continue to deliver while you live there. Don’t get overwhelmed by the fees when you begin to consider the price, but rather consider what it will save you in the long run, it’s all meant to help keep the value of your home up as much as it possibly can.
